China, which has a long
history and profound culture, has devoted itself to enrich the types of beads
since early times. Some types of beads have combined the Chinese and Western
culture, and some keep the unique Chinese style, such as ceramic beads,
cinnabars, bones, cloisonné and etc..
Ceramic / porcelain beads are handmade and hand painted. They are very nice
components for making fashion custom jewelries such as necklaces, earrings,
bracelets, shoes parts and other decorations. They have been individually
painted with Chinese symbols, scenes of nature, mythical creatures, or images of
animals. They are widely available at bead stores in a variety of colors, shapes
and sizes.
Cinnabar is carved for making beautiful fancy jewelry and other ornamental
objects. This stone can be carved into different sizes and shapes which makes
this stone most suitable for making beaded jewelry. Cinnabar beads are
hand-carved with intricate designs representing beautiful symbols or images
found in nature such as birds and flowers. Pendants and beaded necklaces made
with Cinnabar are extremely popular with the fashion conscious individuals.
The bone beads are normally
made from a section of hollow bird/ox bone which is already perforated and light
in weight. Many of the bone beads exhibit polish from being worn as a necklace
or from having been handled. Bone Beads have become a popular factor of fashion
to some degree.
The art of cloisonne was
first developed in the near east, and then soon spread into China where many
production facilities are operated today. Both Chinese and Russian cloisonne
have enjoyed great popularity, with widespread use on decorative items such as
vases, tableware, headdresses, statuettes and, of course, beads.
